Richard E. Azarloza, Managing Director


Mr. Azarloza joined Covington Capital Management in February 2006 as Senior Portfolio Manager.  He is responsible for managing investment accounts for high net worth individuals and foundations, and is an important contributor to the firm’s research efforts.  Mr. Azarloza has over 18 years of investment experience and an extensive background in tax and estate planning.

Most recently, Mr. Azarloza served as Senior Portfolio Manager and Chief Operating Officer at Brown Brothers Harriman & Company in Los Angeles.  Prior to that, he was a portfolio manager at U.S. Trust Company, N.A. and a research analyst at Bank of America Capital Management.

Born in South America and raised in Southern California, Mr. Azarloza is a graduate of UCLA with a BS degree in Mathematics and Economics and an MBA from California State University.  He is also a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and a Certified Financial Planner (CFP).

Mr. Azarloza is a former board member of the North Valley YMCA, a member of the CFA Institute,  CFA Society of Los Angeles, and Town Hall Los Angeles.

Richard and his wife Sylvia have two children.
