April 2016 Letter
The U.S. consumer continues to be the “shining light” in a slow growth, global economy. China’s economy is slowing from stronger levels, Japan is softening, the Eurozone is troughing, and Latin America is suffering from weakness in commodity prices. However, in the U.S., lower energy prices, relatively low interest rates, and an improving job market are providing tail winds for consumers and the economy.
In this edition of our quarterly letter, we provide an overview of how consumers are becoming ‘smarter shoppers’ due to recent innovations and technologies. The introduction of wearables, mobile apps, and improved web sites are allowing consumers to more easily make greater informed decisions about their lifestyles, purchase decisions, and health.
